ACADEMICS

At West Valley Middle School, students are provided with the means by which to excel. By offering our students a balanced education with the core fundamentals, WVMS prepares its students for what lies ahead. With small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and fulfilling, onsite enrichment opportunities, it’s easy to understand how our students consistently outperform others at grade-level.

ELECTIVES

We believe that a student’s school experience is enhanced through a balance of academics and enrichment. As such, we offer a variety of electives designed to suit each student’s individual interests and strengths. By encouraging students to engage in activities they find educationally stimulating, our hope is to inspire a passion that will last throughout their academic careers.

PERFORMANCE ARTS

Our school boasts both an extensive onsite dance studio and a newly-renovated, fully-equipped gymnastics room. WVMS is the home of the wildly successful competitive dance team, the Dance Cats. Among electives like Musical Theatre, we also offer a Glee Club with many performance opportunities. At WVMS, our dance and performing arts students continuously display their desire to shine.

ATHLETICS

West Valley Middle School has a wonderful athletics program that runs concurrent with the fall/spring sports seasons. We participate in the Silicon Valley Athletic League in the sports of volleyball and basketball for both girls and boys divisions, and have seen a great deal of success. Our coaches enforce a WVMS ideal: that active minds benefit from active bodies.

TECHNOLOGY

The fall of 2012 saw the introduction of Apple technology in the classroom. Our 8th grade students were given iPads in order to perform a variety of educational tasks. The implementation of this program has been very popular, and we are confident that our students will venture on to high school and college with the necessary knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly technical world.
